The purpose of this study is to examine the mediating effects of participation satisfaction and empowerment in the relationship between individual-environmental fit and life satisfaction of the Elderly Job Project (EJP) participants. A total of 243 participants (ages 65 and older) were included in this study, who currently lived in Jeollabuk-do, that have participated in the Elderly Job Project. Structural equation modeling was used to analyze the data and have found the following results. First, the study found that life satisfaction increased as the individual-environmental fit increased among the participants. Second, the study has found partial mediation between the following relationships: 1) participation satisfaction partially mediating the relationship between individual-environmental fit and life satisfaction, 2) empowerment partially mediating the relationship between individual-environmental fit and life satisfaction, and 3) participation satisfaction and empowerment partially mediating the relationship between individual-environmental fit and life satisfaction. Based on these results, further implications regarding measures are discussed.
